Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is a thematic-based programme that integrates different learning areas to support the holistic development of our children. We incorporate Code Cracker for phonics, Story Grammar (from ‘Key to Learning’ curriculum), as well as BearyFun Gym into our core curriculum to enhance our children’s learning.

Our curriculum is thematic-based that integrates the six learning areas outlined under MOE’s Nurturing Early Learner’s Framework. In addition, the school have adopted high quality, renowned and specialised curriculums to enhance every child’s learning.

Language & Literacy

Our language programme is complemented with Story Grammar Programme - Key to Learning which “develops children’s love for story, ownership of story language and a profound understanding of story structure by using visual modelling.”

Code Cracker by Dr Alice Tang, is our literacy programme where children learn to relate letters to their sounds, putting it together in words and allowing them to gain reading and spelling skills.

Aesthetic & Creative Expression

Children are encouraged to explore with the elements of art in their art pieces. They are provided with opportunities to explore with a variety of mediums and techniques to express their ideas and feelings.

Our music curriculum from Wiggletunes “promotes positive and creative music and movement experiences to stimulate and enhance children’s development in terms of physical, language, cognitive and social emotional development”.

Motor Skills Development

Fostering children’s development in motor skills allows them to develop confidence and self-esteem in fulfilling their tasks. With weekly gym lessons by Beary Fun Gym, it develops children’s enthusiasm for physical activity and promoting all-round physical development”.

Finger Gym Programme – Key to Learning adopted for the N1 and N2 is a “comprehensive programme of developmental games, stories, rhymes and activities to improve fine motor skills, language and handwriting”.

Numeracy

Matching, sorting, comparing, ordering, patterning, number sense and spatial awareness are some of the numeracy concepts that the children are taught. Children learn these numeracy concepts through manipulation with concrete materials helping them to understand the relationships between the materials represented.

Discovery of the World

Our progressive thematic activities invites children to be curious thinkers through exploration. Children are encouraged to inquire and discover the answers themselves with teachers facilitating their experiences. Current issues are incorporated to allow the children to find out and learn about the world around them.

Social and Emotional Development

The school environment provides a secure space for children to express their emotions, understanding themselves and people around them. Children acquire emotional skills through daily experiences, interactions and activities in school. Through planned activities, children learn the different values and dispositions.

This programme develops children ability to plan, to articulate what they have planned, to analyse structure of object and to analyse the relationship between the different parts.

Fun with Music

Our music programme incorporates singing, playing instruments and props. Children work and play music in a team, fostering their ability to collaborate with their peers.

Little Scientist

Children are exposed to a wide range of science experiments that not only capture their curiosity on how things work but also develops their inquiring minds.

Little Gardeners

Children experience planting and caring for the little piece of land in our school, promoting sense of wonder and love for nature, cultivating teamwork and an increase in knowledge of plants and gardening.

Little Chefs

Children learn the process of cooking from preparation to the partaking of the food. They are given hands-on opportunities to prepare the food such as cutting, mixing and cooking of the food.
