Painting with soil is a drastic change from the rainbow colors the children usually prefer to paint or color in, as soil is comparatively dull and comes in only earthy tones.

But soil proved to be an interesting and engaging new medium for the children to explore the effects of painting with natural material! The texture and monochromatic earthy tones of the soil they painted with made their artwork look organic and accentuate the ideas and impressions of plants and gardening that the children were trying to convey!
